Fused glass beach huts hanging from a locally scoured piece of driftwood.
I love beach huts, their doll house like proportions and their invidual charm lend themselves beautifully to be captured in fused glass. Each hut is cut by hand, with windows, door and contrasting strips of glass added to the roof outline and measures approximately 10cm x 7cm, 15cm including the driftwood and hessian ties.
To me, no matter how many beach huts I have made, each one has its own story and place along the imagined coast line. I add differing coloured seas to the hanging- spring tides or clear sparkly summer seas, a mix of frit to represnt sand and pebbles along with a joyfull mix of coloured glass huts, making each hanging unique with a locally scorced piece of Cornish driftwood added to each piece. Each hanging is unique and induvidual with brightly coloured beach huts which may differ from those in the photo. If there is a range of colours you particularly want please drop me an message.
